LOAN OFFICER & Assistant Branch Manager
Location: Pierre, SD branch
Description: Responsible for examining, evaluating, and recommending approval or disapproval of member loan applications. Ensuring that loan policies, procedures, services and products meet federal and state regulations. Employees are also responsible for reviewing delinquent loan reports, contacting members and arranging for payments on overdue accounts. Important that you are a team player and respond to internal and external member needs in a timely, accurate and professional manner.
Duties: Assists members with information regarding loans to ensure the application is complete; Obtains and reviews credit reports; Verifies employment of applicant, explains loan programs to members, evaluating their needs and making recommendations; Determines market value of collateral to be used for secured loans; Reviews loan applications, determining approval or denial, within established guidelines; Ensures each loan is processed accurately by making sure that each one is properly documented, closed, disbursed, and coordinated; Monitors payment arrangements; Assists with the collection process when needed; Resolves member complaints and explains reasons for denial ; Prepares and sends out loan turn down letters citing reasons for refusal; Assists in loan workout arrangements; File UCC on the Internet; Orders 2nd Mortgage Loan Documents and prepares home equity line of credit; Other miscellaneous duties;
Qualifications: Knowledge of loan operating procedures, policies and procedures; Knowledge of products and services of credit unions; Knowledge of loan documents, titles, deeds of trust and liens, financial statements etc.; Ability to make timely decisions in accordance with laws, regulations and policies governing loan operations; Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; Ability to prepare and monitor detailed records and reports; Compliance regulations in lending; Ability to be bonded; Two years experience in collections and consumer lending that allowed for the attainment of in-depth bankruptcy, collection and bad debt knowledge. Some scheduled Saturdays. FT, with benefits. EOE.
